Built by working breeders who write code
We hatch, band, weigh, cull, and sell — and we've spent decades building software for a living. FarmCoders exists because those two lives kept colliding: every record-keeping tool we tried was either a spreadsheet that fought us or city software that had never smelled a barn.
So we built our own. First for our own flock, then a platform of more than twelve integrated apps and a full social-education center for a national breeding organization whose members use it every day — one of more than a dozen farmer-facing apps we've shipped. That's the whole business now: a small number of substantial builds a year, alongside products of our own.
We deploy this platform for large and multi-location farms and for university ag departments. Teach your standard, your registry, your people, your classes, on the same bones that already carry a national breeding organization every day.
Good records, kept easily, are how a breed gets better — and how a farm gets paid what its work is worth. That's the job we care about.
Records become evidence. Evidence becomes better farming.
Any app can store a weight. The value shows up when thousands of weights, hatches, pairings, and feed records — from many barns, many seasons, many hands — line up in one structured place.
A community's records, kept the same way, are evidence.
That's what every app is really for: each one is an instrument. The data they collect turns into conclusions you can take to the barn Monday morning, not charts for a wall:
- Which line grows best on which ration
- Which pairings throw the traits you're breeding for
- What a hard season did to hatch rates across the whole map
And because the platform is a school and a town square as well as a record book — classes, seminars, forums, and its own feed of photos and video — what the data teaches doesn't sit in a drawer. It becomes the next class, the next revision of the standard, the next generation learning from measured results instead of hand-me-down guesswork. That collaboration is the real product; the apps are how it happens.
Four promises
Plain words
No jargon, no acronyms you have to look up. If we can't explain it over the fence, we haven't finished thinking about it.
Straight prices
Published, honest, no games. You'll know what a thing costs before you commit to anything.
You own it
Your site, your store, your records. No rent forever, no hostage data, no fine print that keeps you trapped. Leave anytime and take everything with you.
Your records outlive the app
Farm software has a graveyard of abandoned apps that took people's records with them. Everything we build exports openly — your years of work stay yours, no matter what.
Why "smart tools" and not "AI transformation"? Because you don't need a buzzword, you need the office work off your back. We treat these tools like a helpful new farmhand: genuinely useful, always double-checked, and never allowed to make decisions that are yours to make.
